Congratulations on the 2014 World Champion San Francisco Giants.

Bruce Bochy cemented his place in Cooperstown with his third championship in five years.

Madison Bumgarner was the star of stars, with great starts followed by an amazing performance out of the bullpen in game seven.

Pablo Sandoval and Hunter Pence came through with big hits, as did Mike Morse.

The Kansas City Royals deserve a salute for a great season, energizing the fan base. They fell one run short in game seven.

The NBA regular season begins this evening. I am going to lay on you my picks for MVP, Rookie of the Year, and the NBA championship.

Let’s start with Rookie of the Year. There are a number of impact players coming into the league this season. I am going to pick Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves to win the honor. I know he was the number one pick, and he will be a special player as a pro. He should make the fans in Minnesota very happy.

My pick for MVP is simple. Whether he throws the chalk in the air or not, King James is going to be the star of stars. His return to Cleveland is going to be special, and he has a new big three with Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. James will return to the throne as MVP, especially with Durant missing time early.

The King will be MVP and he will bring glorious times back to Cleveland. It is a storybook finish and I am picking the Cavaliers to win it all. This team has lots of depth besides the big three. There is the rebounding prowess of Anderson Varejao. The experience of guys like Shawn Marion and Mike Miller. Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson can be factors too. This reminds me of the two championship teams LeBron starred on in Miami.

Rookie coach David Blatt will probably have a few bumps in the road, but as this team jells as a unit, getting better and better with time, watch out.

There will be joy in Cleveland, baby!

It was another interesting week for college football fans.

Mississippi State got a big win at Kentucky. It is never easy to win on the road in the SEC. Go ask Mississippi about that as the Rebels fell from the unbeatens, losing 10-7 at LSU.

There were dramatic finishes, like Utah’s rally to beat USC. Ohio State got past Penn State in two overtimes. UCLA held off a game Colorado squad.

You also had dynamic performances. Devon Johnson rushed for 272 yards for Marshall. Ameer Abdullah set a Nebraska single-game record for all-purpose yards.

A great season rolls on next week.

This weekend, October 17th, my wife and I had a beautiful time in Tallahassee, Florida for the Notre Dame-Florida State big football weekend. I had the honor to speak at the Notre Dame pep rally in front of the Notre Dame Alumni Club and it was an absolute blast. Cheerleaders, the leprechaun, and everyone were out full force as I shared the mic with Athletic Director Jeff Swarbrick.

Notre Dame put up an incredible battle against the #2 team in the nation but lost to a heartbreaker on the the last play as a penalty was called after it looked like Notre Dame had won the football game.

It was a special classic that will always be remembered as a great football weekend. Thank you to the people of Florida State for a great weekend and being so kind to my me and my wife.

I had a fantastic time as the keynote speaker for First Watch Leadership Conference 2014 at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando. First Watch is one of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch in Lakewood Ranch. I am very proud of the recent growth of First Watch adding 50 stores in the last year totaling 150 stores. The very generous executives donated $20K+ to the V Foundation. CEO, Ken Pendery and  CMO, Chris Tomasso are my kind of people. They are all about family and have a passion for helping others. I can`t thank them enough, as I gathered before 200 people from First Watch family and shared our message and received a standing ovation.

The battle to make the Top four in college football is already a wild ride!

Just when you thought it was easy to figure out, upset city hit. Arizona scored a stunning upset at Oregon. Utah State gave previously-unbeaten BYU a shocking setback. The state of Mississippi went wild as Mississippi State beat Texas A&M and Ole Miss rallied to knock off Alabama. Utah stunned UCLA. TCU won at home, edging Oklahoma.

Other schools scored important wins. Auburn easily defeated LSU. Notre Dame got a huge victory over a tough, defensive-minded Stanford squad.

It is excitement galore every week.

I was honored to be the keynote speaker at the Burger King Convention of 1500 Franchise owners. I had a errific time and appreciated the standing ovation after my presentation. It was great meeting the CEO Daniel Schwartz andthe President Alex Maseo. They were great to work with and I enjoyed all the people I met. I stayed at the beautiful Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas with my wife Lorraine and we had a blast. we also visited Cesears Palace and saw Britteny Spears perform live. Great time sharing the moment with all the people at Burger King.
