Congrats to the NBA champion Golden State Warriors. They had a fantastic season with 67 wins in the regular season. They had coaching, talent, depth and played with passion and pride.

To the victor goes the spoils. The NBA Finals MVP was Andre Iguodala, who certainly was invaluable to Golden State. You could certainly make a case for Stephen Curry or LeBron James, but Iguodala really stepped up his game on both ends of the court.

LeBron gave it everything he had, but King James played with a shorthanded team as Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love were sidelined.

Now NBA fans can concentrate on the NBA draft.

I had the thrill of being the Keynote Speaker for Westing House Electric at their corporate event at the beautiful Kiawah Island Sanctuary Club. It was very rewarding to have the opportunity to speak to many CEO`s who serve as Cutosmers for Westing House Electric.

I was introcuded by the CEO and President, Dan Roderick and he surprised me with a beautiful birthday cake. It was refreshing to meet the President of the America`s, Mark Murano. They really are people with great passion.

Westing House Electric is the leading company of nucleur products and energy. They are located outside of Pittsburg and they had a 3 day seminar for all of their customers.

It was a day I will always remember and treasure and I thank them so much for being so generous in their hospitality and the way they treated my wife, Lorraine, and I.

It was 37 years ago when Affirmed won horse racing’s Triple Crown. There were several close calls since, until Saturday’s Belmont Stakes win by American Pharoah.

This horse showed why he is a true champion. He went wire-to-wire to give trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Victor Espinoza that elusive place in history.

American Pharoah was the 13th horse to try and win the Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978, and it got the job done in the sixth-fastest time at the Belmont. Congrats on your place in history, baby!

What a great way to start the NBA finals! Overtime in game one of the finals for the first time in over a decade.

King James tried to will the Cavaliers to the winner’s circle, scoring 44 points. It was not enough as Cleveland suffered a critical loss. Now there is concern about the status of super guard Kyrie Irving, which is now in question.

The Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, combined for 47 points. The bench was a key factor for the Warriors while JR Smith was a no-show shooting three-of-13 from the floor. It was all Golden St in overtime, outscoring the Cavs 10-2 in the extra period.

It should be excitement galore Thursday night as game one of the NBA finals will be special.

The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers will battle for the NBA championship. The stars will be shining s MVP Stephen Curry duels against LeBron James.

You have two rookie coaches doing a terrific job. Steve Kerr and David Blatt have led their teams to this point.

Golden State has the edge in depth. Cleveland has King James leading the way and he makes all of his teammates better. Kyrie Irving needs to be a factor in this series, and his health has him at less than 100 percent.

Other role players like Tristan Thompson, J. R. Smith and Iman Shumpert will also step up. I believe James will accomplish his goal, bringing a championship to Cleveland, the first in any sport there in many years. Cavaliers in six.

There is hockey fever down in Tampa!

The Lightning will host game one of the Stanley Cup finals on Wednesday, taking on the Chicago Blackhawks. This should be a super series. I do not know much about hockey, but I love the enthusiasm of the fans when I go to some games.

Tampa Bay has an outstanding coach in Jon Cooper and a terrific front office with Steve Yzerman. Owner Jeff Vinik wanted to build a winner and he has a lot of young talent on the roster with Steven Stamkos and Tyler Johnson leading the way. The key in the series could be goaltender Ben Bishop, who shutout the Rangers in game seven of the Eastern Conference final.

I am picking the Lightning to win in six games.

I had a fantastic time today as the keynote speaker at a corporate event for Tech Data Corp at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Tampa. Tech Data is the largest in the world for information technology distribution.

Today they were paying tribute to leading customers and vendors. It was very educational sharing time with the President of the American branches, Joe Quaglia and Sr VP of Sales, Marty Bauerlein.

I can`t thank Meghan Brey of Tech Data enough, for her hospitality and kindness during the visit. I was thrilled to receive a standing ovation and was asked to speak at additional upcoming events.

Friday night, June 15th was a special evening. The Sarasota Ritz-Carlton was the sports capital of the world.

The 10th annual Dick Vitale gala is in the books and the big winner was cancer research as we raised big bucks for the Jimmy V Foundation. It was a record of $2.38 million for the fight against cancer. I cannot thank everybody enough for another successful event.

I want to salute our three honorees: Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher and Tampa Bay Bucs’ Lovie Smith.

We had presentations honoring the late Stuart Scott, Leah Still and Lauren Hill, who captured the attention of the nation with her bravery playing basketball. Sadly, she lost her fight with cancer.

There were many sports luminaries in attendance, from number one draft pick Jameis Winston, Kentucky hoops coach John Calipari, former NBA stars Kenny Anderson, Derick Coleman, Billy Owens, Bo Outlaw, John Wallace and Mateen Cleaves, daredevil Nik Wallenda, tennis Hall of Famer Nick Bollettieri plus other NFL players and college hoop coaches. Sarasota was the sports capital of the world.

We also celebrated my All-Star team, youngsters who have beaten cancer. They are living examples of how the dollars raised really help.

I also want to thank the hard-working team of Mary Kenealy, Janet Allen and company which helped stage the event. Over 850 were in attendance, followed by a post-party gathering featuring the rock group Blood, Sweat and Tears.

Next year, we will honor ABC’s Robin Roberts, Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer and Wisconsin basketball coach Bo Ryan.
