We will be in SK Oct 25,26,and 27. Wondered if you would be @ Broken Egg any of those days. My father in law has never met you and I would love to get a photo of both of you and autograph one of your books I have for him. Our family have vacationed in Sarasota since late 1940′s (grandparents) . My folks have a condo on SK since 1980. You signed an autograph for them at the Magic Moment in June 1981. Hope to see you on SK.
Blessings to you and your family and GO HOOSIERS !

Dick,
The above comment is from our 12 year old son. He thinks you are great. So great that for school they got to pick a book to read and it was yours. He wrote a book report on it and received a 10 out of 10 on it. We will be in Siesta Key the week of Thanksgiving. Would love to meet you.
Thanks so much,
Lisa Kash
Dickie you are the person i admire the most, I read you first book many years ago, I had the oportunity to go to the university of louisiana at lafayette since then I never miss a game that you broadcast. Even if you dont believe it we watch ESPN and ABC in Guatemala City, central america. I will be in Florida in January 15, 2012 and I will love to know how to meet you and you can sign me one of your books. If there is any posibility to meet let me know. I will drive down to Sarahsota that will be a dream come true. Thank you and GBU
Is there any way to get an copy of ABCs and 1-2-3s signed by Dick with a special hello to a special 18 month old?
Regards and Happy Thanksgiving!

God Bless you Dickie V, I’m 1 year into my cancer battle. Had my Port taken out yesterday. Cancer still there but getting smaller. Your help fighting this disease means so much. When i was first diagnosed i ordered a basketball and asked you to write. Dont give up don’t ever give up. We can beat this disease. You wrote that but added ” We will Beat this disease” We’ll I’m 1 step closer. Thank you Dick for everything you do.
DICKIE I WAS WATCHING THE JIMMY V GAME WITH WASHINGTON AND MARQUETTE PLAYING AND I HEARD YOU TELL ABOUT THE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THAT YOU HAVE SEEN ALL I CAN SAY YOU HAVE A GREAT BIG HEART .I LOST MY FATHER TO CANCER MANY YEARS AGO AND HE HAD A BIG HEART . IS THERE ANY WAY THAT YOU COULD SIGN TWO PICTURES ONE FOR ME AND ONE FOR MY BROTHER AND IF IT COULD SAY TO KENNY YOUR BIGGEST FAN .THANK YOU MY ADDRESS IS 659 DAVID LANE PARIS KENTUCKY 40361 THANK YOU
How can you NOT appreciate a man who does so much for cancer research who is straight up about everything. No,BS from Dicky V. You are the “REAL THING BABY !!” All the Best to Kelly..
Please, please give another Indiana coach some credit! I know you are a big fan of Bob Knight, as I am. I agree with everything you have ever said about Knight. So, this email is not intended to take anything away from your friend Bob Knight. But, Knight isn’t the only Indiana coach that has won national championships at Indiana. Prior to coach Knight we had two outstanding coaches, Dean and McCracken. They are the two Indiana coach’s that put Indiana basketball on the map, prior to Dean, Purdue was the basketball power in the state of Indiana, it was not Indiana University! Even to this very day Purdue has the most wins over the other. Not only did McCracken win two National titles, he won four Big Ten titles and came in second eight times. Branch would have had more wins at Indiana but he took three years off to serve in World War II. Another interesting thing about Branch, when UCLA came to the state of Indiana looking for their next basketball coach, they didn’t even know who coach Wooden was, they wanted coach Branch McCracken, they offered him the job at twice his Indiana salary and he turned it down even though Indiana would not match the offer, he stayed at IU. He is the one that recommended coach John Wooden for the UCLA job. I could tell you more but I think you can get the point, Indiana University basketball is not just about Bob Knight.
