Protests for social justice dominated sports during the week. Games were postponed/cancelled in the NBA, NHL, MLB, WNBA, MLS, ATP and WTA.

When play resumed, the Lakers and Bucks moved onto the next round of the playoffs. King James and Anthony Davis combined for 79 points as the Lakers dispatched Portland (minus Damian Lillard) in five games. The Clippers also eliminated the Mavericks and Luka Doncic.

Tough week for NBA coaches. The Sixers fired Brett Brown while the Pacers fired coach Nate McMillan.

I’m sorry to learn of the passing of Hall of Famer Lute Olson, an icon at Iowa and Arizona.I loved doing his games at ESPN through the years. I called Lute the Frank Lloyd Wright of coaching for building a first class program .Please God May Lute RIP.
