I had a great time being a part of the Florida Scholastic Rowing Regatta being held in Sarasota, FL. The event featured numerous high school and club crew teams from all over the state. Over 2,000 athletes will partipate in the games and more than 7,000 people will attend the regatta. I said a few words to the event sponsors and volunteers and welcomed them to this fabulous weekend event. The rowing facilities at Nathan Benderson Park are first class and it was so nice to see so many youngsters participating in this competition. Randy Benderson and his father, Nathan are very passionate about the event and have done a tremendous job bringing such a first class event to our area. See photos below.
