March 2009

Journal March 20-21, 2009

Once the NCAA tournament gets under way I spend a lot of time at the ESPN Studios in Bristol, CT. All the ESPN talent and college basketball crew gather in what they call "The War Room" and we sit and watch all the various games.

We spend hours in The War Room studying and preparing for our show on Gameday and Sportscenter. It is a lot of fun to be with all the guys and watch the game we all love. March Madness is truly special and I love being a part of it!

I had a great time on St. Patrick's Day attending a function for Lydian Bank in Sarasota. Thanks to Richard Gerrity, Exec VP, Daniel Vigne, Senior VP, and Cary Putrino, President for inviting me to speak to some of their key executives and customers.

I signed copies of my new book and also had the opportunity to discuss the V Foundation. Lydian Bank has been tremendously supportive of my effort to raise dollars to fight the battle against cancer. I can't thank them enough for their generousity.

Journal March 13-15, 2009

I had a great time in Atlanta for the ACC Championships. I covered the Duke/Maryland semi-final game and then the Duke/Florida State championship game. It is always special being a part of the ACC, as it is the grand daddy of all the conference tournaments.

I always have a great time seeing friends and my colleagues from ESPN while covering the tournament. Duke was victorious, as they cut down the nets once again as ACC champions. Now, the excitement begins as the NCAA tournament gets underway! It's certainly March Madness BABY!
